If you love British wildlife, then you'll already know there's a whole world of websites out there offering advice and information. To help you narrow down your searches, we've chosen our favourite sites of the year. Some offer help identifying British wildlife, some offer activities to get more out of nature and some offer communities of like-minded people.
We've including websites from big organisations to individuals blogs and any groups appearance on the list doesn't imply any endorsement of their organisation, campaigns or aims. They've been chosen purely as a good online resource, a jumping off point when trying to find out more information or an inspirational read. Some of the sites feature the latest whizzy web graphics, some are basic to say the least in terms of design, but all have boundless enthusiasm.

Of course, these are just our choices. If we've missed off your favourite, you can leave comments below the lists with your recommendations or email us to let us know what sites we should be looking at.
Who knows, they may find their way onto next year's list!

I would like to add Sussex Wildlife Trust's website http://www.sussexwt.org.uk too.
It is really informative covering all of the Trust's conservation work in East and West Sussex, details of public course and family events and nature reserves. Also Sussex Wildlife Trust is very active on Twitter keeping followers updated on http://twitter.com/sussexwildlife
Prehaps the Top 50 wildlife social networking sites would make a good feature for the future?
I just joined Nature UK after reading this article. And what a lovely, friendly community it is. Thanks to the Countryfile team for drawing my attention to this site. I no longer feel stranded on the desert island "Brock's Laptop".
