Ellie Harrison goes on a journey from the Wash in Lincolnshire to the legendary Sherwood Forest. En route, she visits the East Lighthouse on the River Nene, once home to artist and conservationist Sir Peter Scott, where she speaks to Sir David Attenborough about Scott's legacy.

Sunday – 6pm – BBC One
Matt Baker and Julia Bradbury are in the Cairngorms, a part of Scotland that has seen its heaviest snowfall in more than a decade. Matt makes the most of the icy conditions by taking part in the annual sled dog rally, while Julia helps to create a snow hole, which can offer a lifeline for people caught out in the mountains. Back on his farm in the Cotswolds, Adam Henson ensures his sheep and cattle get what they need to stay healthy through the winter.
 
Crop to Shop: Jimmy's Supermarket Secrets
Wednesday – 7.30pm – BBC One
Farmer Jimmy Doherty explores the global logistics that bring fresh food to a supermarket near you. He meets the people who grow our food and make this global conveyor belt work, and he also uncovers the science and technology that keeps food fresh for weeks or months without decay.
 
 
The Hairy Bikers: Mums Know Best
Tuesday – 8pm – BBC Two
There is nothing nicer than mum's Sunday dinner and the Hairy Bikers are on a mission to champion this national triumph. Si King and Dave Myers visit two mums and a son and sample a selection of delights from a second generation Italian from East London. They also visit a mother and daughter who take on a regal classic, and a mum whose American father and husband rely on her culinary skills for a heart-warming taste of home.
 
Simon King’s Shetland Diaries
Thursday – 8pm – BBC Two
 

Simon King, wildlife cameraman and Springwatch presenter, sets off on an adventure to the Shetland Isles to live there with his family through the changing seasons. They settle into a wild remote cottage, but the winter weather and winds of over 100mph make life tough for them.

Monday – 8pm – ITV1
 

Rory McGrath narrates this Lake District documentary. At the Hawkshead Agricultural Show, organiser Sue Todd is praying the rain will hold off, while a legendary Lakeland farmer has won so many rosettes for his eggs that he is actually in the Guinness Book of Records.

 
 
Three Hungry Boys
Saturday – 4pm – Channel 4
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall challenges three marine biologists to live off the land for a month. Trevor, Thom and Tim take a disastrous mussel foraging trip on the Isle of Mull. But some lateral thinking and hard work yields produce they can use to charm their way on to a yacht at the local regatta. They also challenge a local chef to a cook-off using limpets.
 
My Dream Farm
Thursday – 8pm – Channel 4
Monty Don assists six families as they try to realise their dream of quitting the rat race. Karon Roberts and Simon Sanders are raising breed rare pigs in Suffolk. The couple have grand plans for an enormous barn housing a farm shop, cafe and art gallery. But the whole scheme is threatened when some of the pigs fall ill.
 
 
Build a New Life in the Country

Thursday – 8pm – five
Charlie Luxton meets an Essex family who hope to renovate a barge and relocate to the canals of Burgundy, France. David is a former professional photographer who plans to run holiday cruises on the finished boat. But the complicated renovation costs time and money, before the family faces the upheaval of moving to France and navigating unfamiliar waters.
