Rare wild flowers thrive on this coastal heath. With over eight species of Orchid, Durlston attracts numerous types of birds and butterflies, and bottle-nose Dolphins can be spotted from the cliffs. With free entry and an informative visitor centre, it is a good choice for a cheap family excursion.

The good news is that when it flowers in early spring, this striking coconut-scented shrub lasts all summer long, so pucker up!
