I'd like to see summertime kept yearlong, except, perhaps for about 6 weeks in the depths of winter. When the clocks go back, everyone seems depressed by the change. And why wait twice the length of time to put clocks forward - it's more than half way to midsummer, for goodness's sake!
Every time this question comes up I point people to road safety figures which show there is a sudden increase in afternoon/evening deaths and casualties when the clocks change in October.
